Karachi: Rangers and police personnel carried out a search operation in different parts of Karachi on Thursday, detaining over 60 individuals suspected of involvement in criminal and terrorism activities.
Law enforcers carried out operations in Azizabad Bhingoria Goth, Mohammadi Colony, PIB Colony, Akhtar Colony, and Old Sabzi Mandi areas.
The search operations in Bhingoria Goth and Mohammadi Colony, which started at 6:00AM this morning, lasted for over five hours. Weapons were also recovered during the raids, officials said.
According to the Superintendent of Police in Gulshan-i-Iqbal area, law enforcement personnel started their search operations in PIB Colony’s Bajauri neighbourhood and Old Sabzi Mandi areas early this morning, arresting three suspects and recovering weapons from them.
30 other individuals were detained on suspicion during the search operation, and they were currently being interrogated.
Meanwhile, Rangers carried out raids in different parts of the city including Akhtar Colony and Azizabad’s Mohammadi Colony and Bhingoria Goth areas, detaining 35 suspected individuals and taking them to an unidentified location for interrogation.
