No official will resign: ECP’s response to Khan

Islamabad: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has rejected PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s demand that members of the commission should resign over mismanagement in 2013 general elections.

ECP has prepared a document in response to Khan’s press conference in which he accepted Inquiry Commission’s report, but held ECP responsible for mismanagement and called for ECP members to quit.

Reports said the ECP has maintained that 2013 general elections were more transparent as compared to past elections, adding that no ECP member would step down.

The ECP has urged Khan to come up with recommendations for electoral reforms, rather than leveling allegations.
