The Interior Ministry, Rana Sanaullah, Imran Khan, and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) are trying to build up the story of a possible technocrat setup to create political instability and uncertainty.
In response to PTI Senior Vice-President Fawad Chaudhry’s statement, the federal minister said, “It’s a joke to have a government of technocrats for two and a half years.”
At a press conference in Islamabad on Wednesday, Fawad said that “unelected people” can’t fix the country’s problems by bringing in some technocrats from the United States.
On Wednesday, “Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada kay Sath” on the private TV channel Geo News, Fawad said something that made Sanaullah laugh. He said the establishment had not talked to either the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) or the PTI about the technocratic setup.
“Every other day, Imran Khan comes up with new stories, but he didn’t say anything about the technocratic system,” he said.
He said the institution had promised the country that it wouldn’t get involved in politics. He also said that everything will follow the Constitution from now on.
He said the PML-N government is doing everything possible to get the economy back on track. However, he said that the answer to the current problems is not elections but the charter of the economy.
