Pakistani TV actress Nimra Khan revealed a terrifying abduction attempt in Karachi.
On her Instagram, she posted a video recounting the ordeal while she awaited her car outside a hotel in Defence Housing Authority’s Phase 8. Khan described how three men surrounded her, attempting to kidnap her.
In the video, she expressed her dismay about safety in Pakistan, particularly for women, stating, “I am Muslim proudly but am sorry being Pakistani; I don’t know what to say.” Visibly distressed, she detailed how the kidnappers tried to force her, even placing a loaded gun against her stomach as she screamed for help.
Despite her cries, the nearby security guards did not intervene. Khan managed to escape the harrowing situation by running towards a moving vehicle whose passengers assisted her. Subsequently, hotel staff came to her aid.
In her heartfelt plea, Khan questioned women’s safety in the country. “I want to ask if you can send your sister, mother, wife, or daughter out safely?” she challenged viewers. She also criticized the national celebration preparations for August 14 in light of such security threats, especially to women.
Khan, asserting her role as both an actress and a taxpayer, questioned the purpose of her tax contributions if not for ensuring public safety. “Why do I pay taxes?” she asked, suggesting she might as well hire personal security instead of relying on state protection.
