News anchor Irza Khan falls from crane at PTI rally

92 News channel’s female anchor, Irza Khan sustained injuries after she fell from the crane while covering the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Pakistan Ehtesab Rally in Lahore.

According to witnesses, the incident took place after  Irza Khan, fainted due to suffocation and hot weather. She received head and arm injuries but could not be given first aid due to unavailability of rescuers.

The anchor was being taken to nearby hospital by the channel’s staffers present at the venue.

The reports said they were stuck in the rally.

Later, Irza’s fellow journalist Tariq Mateen tweeted that he managed to admit her to the hospital.

Earlier, people of Lahore suffered after several thoroughfares were sealed with shipping containers as part of security measure for PTI rally.

The people were witnessed begging police to allow them reach hospitals in different areas in Lahore along Shahdara and Mall Road.

As part of security arrangements, the authorities have closed road from Shahdara to Mall Road with shipping containers.

Mayo Hospital and Punjab Institute of Cardiology, the two main hospitals of Lahore, are on the roads closed for PTI rally. (Photonews / Samaa Tv)
