A senior official of the Chinese embassy said yesterday that a new schedule of President Xi Jinping’s visit would be worked out after the political situation in the country returned to normal.
Chinese and Pakistani officials are holding consultations so that the visit took place at an early date, he said at a news briefing.
He termed the current situation an internal matter of Pakistan and said, “We are confident the Pakistani people have the capacity to resolve their political issues amicably.”
He said politics was an internal matter of Pakistan and no foreign country was entitled to interfere in it.
The official dispelled a perception that the postponement of the president’s visit could affect historical Pak-China ties in any manner. He categorically stated that all projects agreed upon between the two countries would be implemented both in ‘letter and spirit’.
