The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) announced that the New Gwadar International Airport will commence operations by the end of this month. According to the authority’s spokesperson, preparations are nearing completion.
Zeeshan Saeed, Acting Director General of PAA, and Deputy DG Airports Sadiq Rehman recently inspected the airport. Project Director Faizullah Khattak updated them on the facility’s readiness during their visit.
The team also discussed business opportunities and economic zones linked to the airport with stakeholders.

Expressing his approval, the acting DG noted satisfaction with the progress made in the preparations.
Constructed for $246 million, including a grant from China, the state-of-the-art airport features a large runway and an advanced terminal building, enabling it to accommodate various large aircraft.
The new airport is poised to enhance trade and economic development in the region, establishing Gwadar as a critical hub for commerce and connectivity.
