Hussain and Hassan, Nawaz Sharif’s sons, returned to Pakistan after a six-year London stay, avoiding arrest in the Panama Papers scandal.
An accountability court suspended their arrest warrants last week, enabling their return. Their UK exile mirrored their father’s, and the PML-N kept their arrival in Lahore discreet.
Escorted by Punjab police, they reached their Jati Umra home, marking their return from self-imposed exile since 2018. Declared offenders for evading corruption case investigations, their warrants were temporarily lifted until March 14.
Their counsel submitted a warrant suspension application, which the court accepted, allowing them to face trial voluntarily. The court acknowledged their intention to surrender and allowed them to participate in the trial.
Hussain admitted to offshore holdings in the Supreme Court, while Hassan denied foreign property ownership.
