Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has responded to issues with malfunctioning tractors at his Jati Umra residence by setting up an investigative committee following reports of persistent mechanical failures affecting the agricultural operations on his extensive family estate.
Nawaz Sharif, who is currently focusing on private and business matters away from the political spotlight, is at his Jati Umra residence, assisted by his sons, Hassan and Hussain. The Sharif family owns a substantial 301-acre property at Jati Umra, featuring a 20-acre residential area and 100 acres of agricultural land.
Recent concerns have arisen over the functionality of tractors used on the farm, leading to operational disruptions. Disturbed by these developments, Nawaz Sharif has mandated a thorough investigation into the causes of these mechanical issues.
He has directed the estate’s maintenance staff to interrogate the tractor drivers about both past and current mechanical faults and report their findings back to him. This committee will delve into the maintenance records and operational procedures to ascertain the root causes of the failures.
Meanwhile, sources close to the family indicate that Nawaz Sharif’s current priorities lie in restructuring his business interests and enhancing various projects initiated by his family. His recent activities include consultations with the board of directors of Sharif Medical City and plans for a meeting with Kamran Lashari, head of the Walled City of Lahore Authority, which unfortunately did not materialize.
In addition to his focus on business matters, Nawaz Sharif is actively involved in the potential revival of the family’s sugar mills and Hudiabia Paper Mills. He is also dedicating time to managing his agricultural holdings, including overseeing the clearing of nearby forests and engaging with local landowners to enhance land use efficiency and productivity.
