Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif held a telephonic conversation with Opposition Leader Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah to discuss the appointment of a new Chief Election Commissioner.
Supreme Court of Pakistan had ordered the federal government to appoint a new election commissioner by October 28.
Khursheed Shah advised the Prime Minister to discuss the situation with his lawyers and advisors in order to file their replies in the apex court on 28th October.
The two leaders have agreed that the appointment will be made according to the constitution.
