On Tuesday, Eid-i-Miladun Nabi was celebrated with great religious enthusiasm across the country, with political leaders calling for adherence to the Holy Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) teachings of unity and tolerance.
State-run Radio Pakistan reported that the public holiday began with a 31-gun salute in Islamabad and 21-gun salutes in provincial capitals.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conveyed their warm wishes to the nation on this significant occasion. They encouraged the public to use the Prophet’s teachings to navigate challenges.
President Zardari emphasized the importance of spreading the Prophet’s message of love and compassion for humanity. Prime Minister Shehbaz praised the Prophet’s life and virtues as a guiding light for humanity. He also reminded the nation to consider the plight of “our oppressed brothers and sisters in Palestine and [occupied] Kashmir, who suffer tyranny and oppression.”
Special prayers for the unity of the Muslim Ummah and Pakistan’s prosperity followed the Fajr prayer.
Milad processions were scheduled across all cities, with religious scholars emphasizing the Prophet’s teachings and Sunnah. Milad gatherings also took place nationwide, with festive decorations lighting up streets, buildings, and homes.

In Sindh, authorities banned pillion riding and hinted at possible internet and cell phone service suspensions along main procession routes today.
