The accountability court granted the physical remand of former Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General (DG) Ahad Cheema to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
NAB authorities presented Cheema in the accountability court Thursday in the Ashiana housing scheme.
While giving arguments, the NAB prosecutor pleaded that the accused distributed the contract of the Ashiana housing scheme based on nepotism.
The NAB prosecutor urged the court to grant the accused a 14-day remand. However, the court granted a physical remand of 11 days.
The former director general of LDA was presented today at the accountability meeting.
The NAB has arrested Cheema for misuse of authority, awarding a contract of the Ashiana-e-Iqbal project of approximately Rs. 14 billion to Lahore Casa Developers.
Cheema also alleged illegal gratification of a 32-kanal land valuing Rs. 30 million approximately from the owners of Paragon City (Pvt) Ltd.
In the probe, NAB has also questioned Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary Fawad Hasan Fawad.
