Former president Pervez Musharraf, currently being tried for treason charges had filed  petitions challenging the legitimacy of the court, its authority to try him as well as the appointment of judges. The three-member bench headed by Justice Faisal Arab rejected all objections filed by the former military ruler on the grounds that the applications do not fulfill the criteria of merit. The lawyers of Musharraf had submitted applications alleging that two judges of the court, Justice Faisal Arab and Justice Yawar Ali, are biased towards their client.

Now the court will hear the case on March 11 in which Musharraf is likely to be charge-sheeted
