Mohsin Naqvi, the caretaker chief minister of Punjab, has been appointed as the new chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in an uncontested election.
Mohsin Naqvi’s three-year tenure was officially confirmed during the election held at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore.
Mohsin Naqvi, presently fulfilling the role of caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab, is slated to assume responsibilities as the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in the coming days. At the age of 45, Naqvi will be stepping into the position as the 37th chairman in the history of the PCB.
Prior to the elections, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had disclosed the formation of its Board of Governors (BoG), a pivotal step taken in preparation for the electoral process. The BoG followed the guidelines stipulated in Paragraph 10 of the PCB Constitution 2014, ensuring that the board’s composition adhered to the constitutional framework laid out for governance.
