Based on the success of her recently released Barbie movie, Margot Robbie reveals a surprising detail about her relationship with co-star Ryan Gosling.
The much-anticipated movie has already brought in $164 million in the United States, yet Robbie’s friends seem more focused on an opportunity she missed while filming.
During a recent conversation with People magazine, Robbie disclosed that her friends were notably disappointed because she did not seize the chance to share a romantic scene with Gosling. “All of my friends were like, ‘You did a whole movie with him, and you didn’t even kiss?'” She recounts their bewildered reactions, “What’s wrong with you? I thought you were in control of this situation!'” She jestingly added, “I was thinking, ‘I know, I can’t cross that off my list’.”
According to Robbie’s circle, despite the movie’s success, the missed opportunity didn’t quite feel like a victory.
The Star-Studded Cast and Barbie Movie’s Resounding Success
The Barbie movie boasts a stellar lineup featuring Will Ferrell, Issa Rae, Simu Liu, Emma Mackey, Kingley Ben-Air, Dua Lipa, America Ferrera, Kate McKinnon, Rhea Perlman, John Cena, Michael Cera, and Helen Mirren, to name a few. Its critical acclaim and commercial success are a testament to the combined talents of this ensemble.
There’s also speculation that Gosling and Robbie may reprise their roles from Ocean’s Eleven in a prequel set in 1960s Europe. However, all new projects are currently on hold due to an ongoing writers’ and actors’ strike.
The Barbie film is a resounding international success, having grossed $377 million globally. The film’s revenue will grow as more box office figures roll in.
