The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is gearing up for substantial leadership changes, with sources noting that Chief Operating Officer (COO) Salman Naseer is likely to be reassigned soon.
Reports suggest Naseer will transition to the Pakistan Super League (PSL), possibly assuming roles such as Managing Director (MD) or Head of PSL.
In his stead, Sumair Ahmed Syed, the former Deputy Commissioner of Lahore, is expected to step in as the new COO of PCB. He will join the organization on deputation from the Prime Minister’s House.
Syed’s appointment is anticipated shortly, and he will report to both the PCB Chairman and Salman Naseer.
Additionally, the PSL is set for further restructuring. The current International Director, Usman Wahla, is likely to take over as PSL Director, a decision that has raised concerns among PSL franchises.
Although franchises generally support Naseer’s move to the PSL, they express skepticism about Wahla’s proposed role, indicating ongoing debates over the league’s management’s direction.
