Mahnoor Cheema, a 16-year-old Pakistani-British, has passed 34 GCSE subjects – the most ever taken by a student in the UK and EU. In Year 10, she passed 17 subjects with top A* grades and recently added another 17, establishing a record.
Born to Barrister Usman Cheema and Tayyaba Cheema from Lahore, Pakistan, the family moved to the UK in 2006 for higher education. Mahnoor later joined Langley Grammar School in West London after starting her education in Lahore.
Aside from her academic feats, Mahnoor’s global recognition also includes a Mensa IQ Test score of 161, surpassing Einstein’s believed score of 160. This places her in the top 1% globally for intellectual capacity. Furthermore, she’s nearing a music diploma, one of the UK’s youngest pursuing such, and is a finalist in the prestigious John Locke essay contest.
With aspirations in medicine, Mahnoor has expressed her goal to serve humanity. Already demonstrating commitment, she scored in the top 1% in medical entrance exams (UCAT & BMAT) at age 15. Her dedication and record forecast a bright future in medicine.
Mahnoor highlighted her drive and determination in setting goals, managing time, and drawing motivation from her family and future aspirations. While academic, she leads a balanced life, enjoying activities like piano, horse riding, and spending time with friends and family.
Mahnoor acknowledges her parents’ unwavering support, especially her mother’s academic assistance and discipline enforcement. Her father, Barrister Usman, and mother, Tayyaba, are immensely proud, with Tayyaba noting Mahnoor’s achievement as a groundbreaking European record.
