Beloved Pakistani actor Mahira Khan recently attended the Pakistan Literature Festival in Quetta as a special guest. The event on May 15 served as a cultural and educational hub promoting thought-provoking dialogue between Khan and her audience. However, the event took a shocking turn when an unknown object was hurled at her from the audience.
While discussing her career and professionalism, an object hit the Ho Mann Jahaan actor. Fortunately, it only grazed her side. In shock, Khan paused the conversation and calmly expressed her disappointment, highlighting the lack of respect shown.
“I won’t do any dialogue because you threw something at me; it means there is no room for dialogue,” Mahira said. The actor then resumed the conversation and supported a film showcasing Quetta and Balochistan’s culture.
The incident, captured on video, elicited mixed reactions from fans. Some expressed concerns for Khan’s safety, while most lauded her composure. One Instagram user commented, “She handled the situation gracefully and confidently.
Mahira later posted a video on Instagram, captioning it, “What happened at the event was uncalled for. No one should think it’s okay to throw something on stage… It is unacceptable… Sometimes, I get scared, not just for myself but others who may be trapped in a mob-like situation.”
She concluded her post with appreciation for the attendees and the love she received in Quetta. The elegance with which she handled the situation on stage carried through to her message on Instagram.
