The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Pakistan Army has confirmed the safe and unconditional release of Lieutenant Colonel Khalid Amir and three of his relatives who were abducted in southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dera Ismail Khan.
ISPR highlighted the pivotal role played by tribal elders and leaders in negotiating the release of the hostages. In a video message following his release, Colonel Khalid recounted the harrowing experience, stating that they were abducted by armed militants while sitting in a mosque. He condemned the abduction as a violation of Islamic traditions and Pashtun culture.
During captivity, Colonel Khalid was coerced into making statements against the Pakistan Army, an act he firmly denounced in his message. He expressed profound gratitude towards all individuals involved in securing their freedom and reiterated the Pakistan Army’s commitment to truth and righteousness.
