Lieutenant Colonel Akbar Hussain (retired) was convicted and sentenced by a Field General Court Martial (FGCM) under the Pakistan Army Act, 1952, for charges of inciting sedition among army personnel and impeding their duties.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that through a fair judicial process, the court found Akbar Hussain guilty and sentenced him to 14 years of rigorous imprisonment on May 10, 2024. Subsequently, his rank was forfeited on July 26, 2024.
