The power outages have intensified once again as the independent power producers (IPPs) face difficulties in servicing their dues and continuing power production with urban areas continue to bear with loadshedding every hour.
According to NTDC, the circulating debts of the private oil companies are multiplying which is resulting in a lower supply of oil to IPPs. Consequently, IPPs are producing 4000 MW of electricity instead of the required production of 6000 MW. The constraint has caused an increase in the loadshedding across Pakistan as the shortfall has reached 4100 MW.
