The Lahore High Court (LHC) sent a letter to the manager of the Multan stadium requesting VVIP passes for the Pakistan Super League opening ceremony for the judges and families had been withdrawn due to a “misunderstanding.”.
According to the statement, “The letter was issued due to a misunderstanding, and the letter was immediately withdrawn as and when the matter came to the notice of the additional senior registrar of the Multan bench.”.
On February 7, 2023, a letter written to the stadium manager by Assistant Registrar Protocol Javed Saeed Khan on behalf of the LHC’s additional senior registrar went viral on social media and drew criticism from the general public. The letter’s subject line read, “Provision of chairman box, VVIP passes, and red vehicles stickers for PSL.”. The competition will begin on February 13 in Multan.
The letter was withdrawn with the following statement: “I am directed to refer to the subject cited above and to inform you that honorable judges of the Lahore High Court, Lahore, along with their families, have desired to participate in the opening ceremony and to watch matches of the PSL scheduled in Multan.”.
The LHC officer requested that the stadium manager set up the chairman box as soon as possible and provide 30 VVIP passes, red vehicle stickers, and each cricket tournament match in Multan with 25 VVIP passes.
The previous letter had unintentionally been addressed to the stadium, according to a follow-up letter sent to the stadium manager on February 8.
The letter stated that “now, per orders of the competent authority, the letter in question is at this moment withdrawn, and no action is required in this regard.”.
