The Lahore High Court revoked the election victories of two PML-N members from Gujranwala and Lodhran. Another PML-N member from Nankana Sahib also saw his victory suspended due to legal challenges.
In Gujranwala, the court overturned MNA Azhar Qayum Nahra’s victory following a PTI-supported challenge, citing legal oversights by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) during a recount process.
Similarly, in Lodhran, the court unseated MNA Abdul Rehman Kanjoo, declaring PTI-backed Rana Faraz Noon the winner. The ECP’s notification of Kanjoo’s February victory was invalidated based on procedural errors.
Furthermore, the victory of PML-N’s Rana Arshad from Nankana Sahib was also put on hold after a PTI appeal, disputing the recount results that initially favoured them.
Meanwhile, Dr. Yasmin Rashid, a PTI leader, has legally contested former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s election win in Lahore’s NA-130, alleging electoral manipulation by the ECP.
Additionally, the ECP suspended the notification of Balochistan Assembly Speaker Abdul Khaliq Khan Achakzai’s victory pending a re-poll in his constituency. Meanwhile, after the resolution of a party nomination dispute, Sadaf Ihsan was confirmed as a returned candidate for a reserved seat in the National Assembly from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
