The district commissioner suspended the registration of Lahore’s Scarsdale International School following a girl who was bullied, and the video went viral on social media.
District Commissioner Mohammad Ali presided over the case’s proceedings, and until the case’s next hearing, the educational institution’s registration will continue to be suspended.
The video of the incident went viral last week; it brought to light the bullying and manhandling of a girl by her female classmates at a private school. In addition, four girls were charged after a fellow student was tortured.
After hearing the arguments from the parties in the case regarding the recommendations made by the District Education Authority (DEA) in its inquiry report, DC Mohammad Ali decided to suspend the school’s registration.
Both the owner and the principal of the school were present.
The DC suspended the school’s registration and authorized the CEO to manage the school’s operations while the registration was suspended.
The school administration and the parents of the involved students were instructed to submit a response to the inquiry report by the next hearing.
The Lahore DC received the DEA’s inquiry report on Tuesday. Lahore Elementary School Education’s female district officer, deputy district officers, Cantt and Model Town conducted the inquiry.
According to the report, four female students “tortured their classmate” outside the school cafeteria.
According to the report, “friends” shared photos of a “student party outside the school” with parents.
It also said the school has no security cameras at the cafeteria entrance and lacks discipline.
The inquiry recommended fining the school Rs600,000 or suspending its registration.
Officials also advised expelling the students who mistreated the victim.
The Lahore DC ordered the inquiry after the matter surfaced and received the report with recommendations.
