The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has announced that all current and retired government employees will receive their salaries and pensions by January 31.
February 1 is a Saturday and coincides with a government holiday. The KP government has prioritized the prompt distribution of salaries and pensions to prevent delays. The Finance Department has issued directives to process all payments before the February 1 and 2 holidays.
The Finance Department has circulated a formal directive to all administrative officers across government departments. They are required to ensure that:
- Salaries are disbursed to current employees on time.
- Pensions are paid to retired government employees without delay.

This move follows last month’s strict warning from the KP Finance Department to government employees. The department emphasized that negligence in office hours or official duties could result in:
- Salary deductions,
- Transfers, or
- Disciplinary actions.
The KP government has informed all provincial offices and departments following public complaints. Employees are required to comply with working hours from 9 AM to 5 PM. The directive emphasizes that failure to meet official duties will not be accepted, and strict measures will be enforced against those who violate this order.
