Despite government’s appeal for flexibility, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan today continued to harp on his demand that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif quit before vote rigging investigations.
Relying on his usual cricket clichés he said “Come to join me for a final match, it will be a decisive day today, we will announce our tack today… I will ward off all misunderstandings of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif today,” he said while addressing his workers atop his luxury shipping container outside the Parliament House.
He claimed that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has refused to quit his office.
“Have you witnessed this kind of attitude anywhere in civilized world? This only happens in Husni Mubarak’s democracy, not in a real democracy,” he said.
He reiterated his demand that PM should quit to ensure a free and fair enquiry into election rigging.
He repeated his call for a “civil disobedience moment” against PML-N government, appealing people to stop paying utility bills and taxes to the current government.
