Renowned dramatist Khalilur Rehman Qamar has complained to the Cyber Crime Wing of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), accusing certain individuals of creating and distributing explicit videos of him to extort money.
Qamar’s complaint asserts that after he refused to meet their financial demands, these individuals circulated the videos online, severely tarnishing his reputation.
In his demand for legal action, Qamar highlighted the extensive damage these actions have caused to his personal and professional standing. The FIA Cyber Crime Wing has confirmed the receipt of his complaint and plans to initiate an investigation promptly.
Concurrently, police have detained 12 individuals linked to this case, including the primary suspect, Hassan Shah, and his associate. The arrest followed the registration of a case at Sundar Police Station on July 21.
The incident unfolded when Qamar was allegedly lured to a residence by Amna Urooj under the guise of discussing a new drama project. According to Qamar, he was then abducted by armed assailants and only released after paying a hefty ransom. During this ordeal, the suspects allegedly took his mobile phone, watch, and cash and forcibly transferred Rs 250,000 from his bank account. Qamar reported that he was blindfolded and abandoned in a remote area before the culprits fled.
