Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah inaugurated K-73rd Electric’s grid station on Monday.
Karachi Electric (KE) hopes to bring Karachi inexpensive electricity and decrease load-shedding.
The third interconnection will be the 500KV KANUPP–KE Interconnection (KKI) Grid. These linkages will send 2,050MW of electricity to Karachi in the coming years.
Sindh Energy Minister Imtiaz Shaikh, CEO Siemens, Markus Strohmeier, former Administrator Murtaza Wahab and other senior representatives of the provincial government, along with KE’s senior officials, attended the ceremony.
In a statement, the KE said, “This is also in line with KE’s ongoing commitment to improving the reliability and stability of its infrastructure,”
Upon addressing the opening ceremony, Murad Ali Shah said, “When we work together on the challenges, solutions are found. We should move forward with this spirit for the betterment of the commoner. The Sindh government is working closely with the KE to ensure that our province and its major cities thrive,”
KKI Grid is a monument to KE and Sindh’s collaboration, stated K-Electric CEO, Moonis Alvi.
“I appreciate them designating 40 acres for this modernized grid.” Alvi thanked Siemens’ technical teams for working around the clock on the project.
We’re improving Karachi, Sindh, and Pakistan. He noted that the additional supply and 900MW of efficient energy from KE’s forthcoming BQPS-III plant will illuminate more homes, energize enterprises, and help build a brighter, prosperous future.
