Karachi’s electric bus service, suspended for almost two months due to charger malfunctions, is slated to recommence operation on Monday.
Sindh Information and Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon announced during a recent press conference.
Minister Memon noted that the new chargers for the electric buses have arrived, paving the way for the resumption of the public transport service. He emphasized that the provincial government has been consistently taking measures to modernize public transport facilities in the city.
Moreover, Memon revealed that another batch of new buses would arrive in the city on the same day, further enhancing the transport service in Karachi.
Additionally, Memon acknowledged the successful operation of the recently launched PBS app. This digital tool allows passengers of the Peoples Bus Service to live track the movement of buses, making public transport more user-friendly and efficient in Karachi.
The resumption of the electric bus service comes after a two-month hiatus triggered by malfunctions in the electric vehicle (EV) chargers. Now that this issue has been resolved, the people of Karachi can look forward to the return of the eco-friendly transport option in their city.
