Three policemen were killed in a span of just 15 minutes across two separate incidents in Karachi during the early morning hours today.
In the first incident, a police officer was gunned down by unidentified armed men near Shanti Nagar in Baldia Town. The officer had been deployed to secure a polio vaccination team in the area. His body was taken to a hospital for medico-legal formalities.
In the second incident, two policemen, identified as Azam and Azhar, were shot dead near the Quaidabad roundabout in Orangi. They were on their way to duty when armed assailants targeted them.
The perpetrators in both incidents managed to escape, and the police have launched investigations into the killings.
