In defiance and frustration, a citizen of Karachi dramatically set his motorcycle ablaze in front of the Karachi Press Club.

The reason? He cited misconduct and unfair treatment by the Frere police officers. The man, visibly agitated, recounted his ordeal to the onlookers and the media present. He alleged that the Frere police falsely branded him as ‘intoxicated’ and physically assaulted him on-site. Adding to his grievances, he claimed the officers took away his money, vehicle documentation, and mobile phone without justification.

TRIGGER WARNING

In a distressing incident, a Bykea rider set his motorbike on fire in front of Karachi Press Club against 'mistreatment' by police.

In the video, the man can be heard complaining against Madadpar police, whom he called for help.

Police’s Version of the Incident

On the other hand, the police provided a slightly different narrative. They mentioned that the same citizen had been involved in a dispute near Cantt Station shortly before the motorcycle incident. Following the altercation, they received a call on their helpline regarding the issue. Officials assured that they are actively looking into the matter to discern the actual series of events and ascertain the authenticity of the allegations raised against them.
