Assistant Commissioner Hazim Bangwar of Karachi has been officially removed from his position and advised to report to the Services and General Administration Department.
Hazim Bangwar is recognized for his distinctive style, making him a notable public service figure. Besides his administrative duties, Bangwar has an eclectic background, including a Bachelor’s degree in fashion design. His career has spanned various creative endeavours, including modelling, poetry, and fiction, showcasing his multifaceted talents.
Hazim Bangwar was removed from his position as Assistant Commissioner in Karachi. While the official reasons for his dismissal were not disclosed, insider sources suggest it was due to a controversial enforcement action he took.
Bangwar reportedly issued eviction notices to several officials overstaying in their allocated residences within the commissioner’s office premises. These residences are typically assigned to officials upon their appointment and are supposed to be relinquished at the end of their term.
The situation escalated with two officials, including a female official, who continued occupying their residences despite their cancelled allotments. Their residences had been reassigned to new officials during the tenure of the former Karachi Commissioner, Iqbal Memon.
The new allottees reportedly sought intervention from the Sindh High Court to gain possession of the residences. In compliance with the Sindh High Court’s order, Bangwar took action by issuing the notices, which eventually led to his dismissal. While adhering to judicial directives, this action appears to have sparked controversy and contributed to his removal from office.
