Indian comedian Kapil Sharma received a death threat via an email originating from Pakistan, joining other celebrities like Rajpal Yadav, Sugandha Mishra, and Remo D’Souza, who have experienced similar threats.
Mumbai police have initiated an investigation after registering an FIR against an unidentified individual under section 351(3) of BNS.
The threatening email stressed the seriousness and confidentiality of the message, stating, “We are monitoring your recent activities and believe it is important to bring to your attention a sensitive matter. This is not a publicity stunt or an attempt to harass you. We urge you to treat this message with the utmost seriousness and confidentiality.” The sender identified themselves only as ‘BISHNU’.
According to police, the celebrities were given an ultimatum to respond within eight hours to avoid personal and professional consequences.
Kapil Sharma filed a complaint with the Amboli Police after receiving the email. Before this, Sugandha Mishra and Remo D’Souza had also reported receiving the same threatening communication, while Rajpal Yadav found the email in his spam folder and reported it three days after initially receiving it.
The series of threats comes at a time of heightened concern for celebrity safety in Mumbai. Last October, politician Baba Siddique was fatally shot near his home in Bandra, an attack claimed by the gang of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. In response, Salman Khan heightened his security measures, including installing bullet-proof windows at his residence.

After his treatment at Lilavati Hospital, Saif returned home, acknowledging his supporters and the paparazzi. He also met Bhajan Singh Rana, the auto driver who rushed him to the hospital following the attack.
