The Islamabad Capital Police (ICT) announced that the F-9 Park rape case suspect was killed in retaliatory fire after allegedly opening fire on a police checkpoint in the capital.
According to a tweet issued early in the morning on the official Twitter account of the Islamabad Police, two gunmen on motorcycles opened fire on police roadblock D-12. The Metropolitan Police stated that security measures kept officers safe during the event and that the two injured “assailants” were transferred to the hospital but died of their wounds.
A few hours later, police reported on Twitter that the shooter had been identified and that both men were implicated in the F-9 Park rape. In addition, they stated that the “gunman” was wanted for significant offenses, including street crimes, and that one of the suspects committed a homicide during the heist.
Two armed men raped a young woman in Fatima Jinnah Park, popularly known as F-9 Park, in Islamabad earlier this month. The occurrence occurred on February 2.
According to the woman, the suspect raped her at gunpoint when she was in the park with a male escort. The woman and her coworker were in the park when two armed suspects held them captive and led them to a wooded part of the park.
Before splitting, the two assailants aimed their firearms at the woman and her coworker and pushed them into nearby bushes. Then, they assaulted the woman bodily when she begged and pleaded to be released.
According to the police report made by the victim at the Margal police station, she offered them money to release her, but they refused. If the woman did not stop raising her voice, the attackers threatened to contact additional “friends” to join in the assault.
As per the FIR, the victim’s effort to flee was blocked by armed individuals. After committing rape, the assailant handed away the victim’s and her colleague’s belongings and paid them each Rs 1,000 to keep silent about the occurrence. The suspected perpetrator of the rape advised the victim that she should not be in the park at that hour.
