Recently, a photo of Elon Musk and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni at a New York event sparked rumours online suggesting they were “dating.”
Musk was in New York to present Meloni with the Atlantic Council Global Citizen Award at a ceremony. During the event, he commended Meloni and described her as “authentic, honest, and truthful.”
While honouring her, Musk expressed, “It is an honour to present this award to someone who is even more beautiful inside than outside.”
“Giorgia Meloni has done an incredible job as Italy’s Prime Minister,” he added.
Taking to her official X account, Meloni expressed gratitude for Musk’s praise.
The speculation intensified when a Tesla fan club posted the image of Musk and Meloni with the caption, “Do you think they’ll date?” Musk clarified in a response, stating, “We are not dating.”
Meloni received the award for her robust support of the EU and her historic role as Italy’s first female prime minister. She was also in New York for the annual high-level meeting of the United Nations General Assembly, attended by leaders from over 190 countries.
