The head of the Palestinian resistance organization Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, was killed, and new details have emerged from his organization’s representatives.
Dr. Khaled Qadumi, Hamas’s representative in Pakistan and Iran, shared insights with Iran’s news agency IRNA about the events surrounding the night of Haniyeh’s death. Dr. Qadumi, who was in the same building in Iran then, described a sudden disruption at 1:37 AM that initially seemed like an earthquake.
Upon investigating, Dr. Qadumi found smoke near Haniyeh’s room and discovered severe damage on the fourth floor where Haniyeh was staying. He observed that the destruction appeared consistent with an aerial or missile attack, contradicting reports suggesting that a bomb was placed under Haniyeh’s bed.
In a separate interview with Geo News, Dr. Qadumi emphasized the lethal intent of their adversaries, highlighting recent communications Haniyeh had with international leaders before the attack.
It is reported that on July 31, 2024, Ismail Haniyeh was killed in Tehran during the inauguration ceremony of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. His death marks a significant blow to the Palestinian liberation movement. Iran has expressed intentions to retaliate, while Israel has not acknowledged responsibility for the attack.
