During a Supreme Court hearing on the government’s appeal in the NAB amendments case, the court opted not to live-stream the appearance of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan.
Throughout the session, Khan was seen smiling in response to remarks made by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, who humorously mentioned that they would seek answers from Khan on certain matters, eliciting a visible reaction from him via the video link.
During the proceedings, Khan was observed stretching and moving his arms, indicating discomfort under the bright courtroom lights. This led to police officers adjusting the lighting at his request.
The hearing also saw the Advocate General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa express concerns about the proceedings not being broadcast live. Chief Justice Isa responded by directing the Advocate General to take his seat.
The session garnered considerable attention, particularly after an image of Imran Khan from the video link was resized and later adjusted in the courtroom. This followed the image’s leak and subsequent viral spread on social media, adding to the public scrutiny of the proceedings.
