Imaan Mazari, representing poet Ahmad Farhad, disclosed in court that they received a WhatsApp call urging the withdrawal of their petition for Farhad’s promised return.
In today’s hearing, Imaan Mazari disclosed in the courtroom of Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani that they had received a WhatsApp call from a number registered to Ahmad Farhad.
Mazari claimed they were urged to withdraw their petition with assurances of Farhad’s return during the call.
“We possess records of the messages exchanged where they instructed us to declare in court that Ahmad Farhad had left of his own volition. We refused to propagate falsehoods. However, despite our withdrawal of the petition, Ahmad Farhad has not been released, leading to our deception,” Mazari conveyed to the court.
