The governor of Sindh, Kamran Tessori, purchased 100 camels, 10 cows, and 100 goats in preparation for Eid al-Adha, spending 440 million PKR on these sacrificial animals.
According to the Governor’s office, Tessori personally negotiated the prices, acquiring each cow for 1 million PKR and each goat for 40,000 PKR. The expenditures amounted to 100 million PKR for the cows and 40 million PKR for the goats. Additionally, each camel costs 300,000 PKR, totalling 300 million PKR for all the camels.
Governor Tessori plans to sacrifice the 100 camels and 10 cows across the three days of Eid, while the 100 goats will be distributed to the needy as a gesture of goodwill. He also plans to distribute rations to those in need during the holiday, acknowledging the financial challenges many face in purchasing sacrificial animals.
Furthermore, in a gesture of support to a victim of alleged brutality in Sanghar, Governor Tessori announced the donation of two camels to the affected individual. He highlighted the inhumanity of the act, which not only inflicted physical harm but also stripped a poor man of his means to earn a living. He assured that he would deliver the camels during his upcoming visit to Hyderabad. He has urged the police to take stringent action against the perpetrators to ensure justice is served.
