An international news report has revealed that a postal worker was used to locate and assassinate Al-Qassam Brigades commander Mohammed Deif.
The postal worker was reportedly aware of a meeting between Commander Deif and Khan Younis Brigades Commander Raafat Salama. This information was passed to Israeli forces by a covert agent.
During the investigation into Deif’s assassination, the covert agent admitted to being shown a picture of Deif by Israeli forces. The agent confirmed seeing Deif multiple times in the area where Salama was hiding. While delivering mail, the agent spotted Deif and alerted the Israeli forces, leading to the assassination. Both Deif and Salama were present at the location when the attack occurred, though Hamas has not acknowledged Deif’s death.
The house where Deif and his deputy were sheltering was hit by a 2,000-pound bomb, creating a deep crater around the property. The Israeli attack on July 13, 2024, resulted in the deaths of Commander Mohammed Deif, Commander Raafat Salama, and over 90 other Palestinian civilians.
