A grand trial jirga held in Peshawar earlier today, validated the ‘2006 Peace Agreement.
The agreement was made between the government and tribes in North Waziristan.
The grand tribal jirga released a joint communique, urging the parties to establish peace in accordance to the agreement signed in 2006.
The members of jirga have reiterated full support to maintain peace in North Waziristan.
The communique states that both the Taliban and the Waziristan shura have expressed full confidence in the jirga.
Jirga members have demanded the government to end military operations in North Waziristan and relax curfew to ensure peace in the region.
