Government Recovers Rs95 Billion in Nationwide Electricity Theft Crackdown

The government has launched a stringent campaign to combat electricity theft to bolster the nation’s economy and alleviate the ongoing power crisis.

Through these enforcement actions, authorities have recuperated Rs95 billion and arrested over 78,000 individuals for their involvement in electricity theft.

From June 2-9, during a focused operation, substantial amounts were recovered from major cities: Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, and Islamabad contributed Rs35 million, while Peshawar, Hyderabad, Sukkur, and Quetta added Rs15 million.

The crackdown has not slowed, with 250 additional arrests made since June 9. Officials affirm their dedication to continue these efforts until electricity theft is eliminated nationwide.
