Details have emerged about an individual who provided Israel with information on the whereabouts of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.
According to a report published by a French newspaper, an Iranian spy allegedly supplied Israel with details about Nasrallah’s presence in Beirut.
The report cites Lebanese security forces, which claim that an Iranian agent was involved in relaying sensitive information to Israel. This same agent reportedly informed the Israeli forces about Nasrallah’s location, which led to an Israeli military strike on Hezbollah headquarters in the southern suburbs of Beirut.
Nasrallah was reportedly visiting the site following the funeral rites of Hezbollah’s drone unit commander, Mohammad Sarwar. Based on the comprehensive intelligence received, Israeli forces timed their attack to coincide with an underground meeting being held 30 meters below ground, attended by Nasrallah, the deputy commander of the Quds Force, and other key Hezbollah leaders. The timing was chosen to maximize casualties.
It is important to note that Israel has claimed responsibility for the Friday night attack on Hezbollah’s headquarters in South Beirut, alleging that the strike resulted in the deaths of Nasrallah and 20 senior commanders. However, neither Lebanon, Iran, nor Hezbollah has officially confirmed or denied these casualties.
