Four die as Orange Line project truck hits motorists

Four people were killed and four  injured when a truck working on the Orange Line train project collided with a rickshaw and two motorcycles.

According to  initial information, a truck working for the Orange Line project hit the rickshaw and two motorcycle at Lahore’s Daroghawala area due to which four persons were reported dead while four others sustained severe injuries.

The deceased included 40-year old Amjad, 34-year old Ali Khan and 10-year old Nauman. The fourth deceased has not been identified as yet.

The four injured have been identified as Amir  Wasim, Shamim and Razzaq were shifted to hospital for treatment of their injuries.

The truck driver managed to escape after the incident took place.

The residents of the area staged a protest against the incident and blocked the roads by setting tyres on fire. The protesters also tried to stop the authorities from taking the truck into their custody.

Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif took notice of the incident and ordered the authorities to arrest the truck driver immediately.
