Former Prime Minister (PM) Yousuf Raza Gilani’s son Abdul Qadir Gilani’s escort shot dead a young boy named Tahir in Lahore on late Wednesday.
According to initial reports and eye witnesses, the gunfire took place in Defence Z-Block Lahore, where two brothers Tahir Malik and Waheed on a motorbike were retuning home after distribution ‘Qurbani’ meat among their relatives, when Gilani’s guard opened fire on exchange of hot words with Tahir. As a result, Tahir died on the spot.
Following the incident, the relatives of the deceased placed Tahir’s body infront of Gilan’s house at Y-Block Lahore and demanded to registered FIR against Qadir Gilani and his guard. Subsequently, FIR No918/14 was lodged under section 302 PPC, section 7 of Anti Terrorist Act and 109 (abetment) on the complaint of Tahir’s father.
Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif took notice of the incident and directed to file FIR without any delay.
Later on, a case was registered against Gilani and high guards under murder clauses 302, on plea of the bereaved family.
