Flood turns to Multan after causing destruction in Jhang, Chiniot

The destruction caused by the deadly flood continued in various cities of Punjab on Thursday as nine persons were reportedly perished in Chiniot, three in Jhang while dozens of people were injured.

The authorities fear that water torrent can reach 800,000 cusecs in the next twenty four hours. Hundreds of settlements in South Punjab inundated with the entrance of the flood torrent. The authorities are reportedly preparing to create a breach at Sher Shah and Head Muhammadwala dykes.

The flood torrent is now advancing towards the South Punjab. The water level has receded in Head Tarimmu but the danger still prevails and the water flow level can reach over 800,000 cusecs in next 24 hours.

Dozens of more settlements have been affected by the flood resulting in disconnection of ground contact of Jhang with other cities.
Relocation of affected to safer areas from Rasulpur, Shakarani, Makhan Baila and Kachi Laal among other villages was also seen.
