Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Senator Azam Khan Swati has been arrested for speaking out against high military officers.
Early Sunday morning, the PTI leader was brought into custody from his home in Chak Shahzad, Islamabad.
The Cybercrime Wing of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested Swati for using offensive language toward the army head and other senior military officers.
The senator has been charged based on the complaint of FIA Technical Assistant Anis ur Rehman. The case has been filed for defamation and violations of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act.
The senator was arrested under the provisions of Sections 500, 501, 505, and 109. Last month, he was again arrested under the same laws.
