The Rabiul Awwal moon was not sighted. Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH) will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 17, as announced by the moon-sighting committee.
The third month of the Islamic calendar, 1446 Hijri, begins on Friday. Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad, Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, declared this after a session in Islamabad’s Ministry of Religious Affairs Secretariat. The zonal committees also convened in Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, and Lahore.
Representatives from the Pakistan Meteorological Department, SUPARCO, and the Ministry of Science and Technology attended.
As Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH) approaches, lights decorate various buildings and shrines nationwide. The government and religious organizations have planned numerous programs. These highlight the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) character and merciful acts with profound respect and devotion.
The day starts with 31 and 21 gun salutes in the federal and provincial capitals, respectively, in honour of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Mosques will offer special prayers for peace, progress, and prosperity in the country. Prayers for the early liberation of Palestine and Kashmir are also included.
