Ali Zafar, multi-talented singer, actor and host, has added yet another feather to his cap by taking the producer’s seat for an upcoming film namely Deosai, according to local media sources.
Deosai will be an action drama based in Pakistan’s beautiful Northern areas. The film’s shoot is expected to begin in summer, and the movie is expected to release in the middle of next year, reported sources.
Ali Zafar has given the director’s seat to Imran Babur, director of documentary ‘Without Shepherds’, according to media sources.
Ali is set to play the lead in the movie, while a leading actress is yet to be decided. Talking about the film, Ali Zafar has stated that creating a feature film is ‘a most thrilling beginning’.
Zafar further added that Deosai is a place known as the ‘land of the giants’, and he has named the title after the place.
According to sources, Ali added, “I have been wanting to play my part in the revival of our local cinema industry and make films that are not just avant-garde in their narrative and aesthetics but also mean something. Films that can make a difference and are remembered for a long time for their content besides aiming to be successful commercial ventures. Which is why I waited for that right intuition and idea for my first film as an actor-producer and I am extremely happy with the way it has shaped up.”
