Another underfed child in Thar died due to starvation in civil hospital Mithi, mounting the death toll to 55 in 44 days on Thursday.
56 children are still admitted at Mithi Hospital whereas inhabitants of various areas of Chachru and Dhali have started to migrate.
Earlier, Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah has said that the hospital in the area is modern and that the cause of children’s deaths is complications during pregnancy and not malnutrition.
The Sindh CM expressed these views during the cabinet meeting on Wednesday.
